Heliophysics Modeling & Simulation Project (HMS)
Seokkwan Yoon
Research Scientist, NASA Ames Research Center
Seokwan Yoon conducts analyses of simulation results and produces comparison with spacecraft observations for improvements in modeling solar magnetohydrodynamics.
Bio
As a numerical simulation specialist, Seokkwan has conducted research for a variety of NASA’s aeronautics and space exploration vehicles, including hypersonic aircraft, rotorcraft, the space shuttle, planetary entry vehicles, and air-breathing and rocket propulsion systems. He received a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University.
Research Interests
Currently, Seokkwan’s research is focused on improving numerical algorithms and boundary conditions for modeling solar physics, and solution methods for computation of Stokes profiles in the convection zone of the Sun.
