Requesting an Allocation (PIs Only)

NASA’s High-End Computing (HEC) Program uses the Request Management System (RMS), a web-based management tool, for requesting and managing access to its HEC resources. If you are seeking new funding or you already have funding to perform research for NASA, you can use RMS to request an allocation of computing time for your project.

Complete the following steps to request computing time. If you need more information, you can also refer to the Request Management System (RMS) User Guide.

  1. Log into the Request Management System.
  2. Start a Computing Request.
    • Make sure the proper mission directorate is selected before proceeding.
  3. In the Computing Request, complete all of the required fields.
  4. Submit the request.
    • Note: You must click to acknowledge NASA requirements on data types and security (located at the bottom of the form) to save your entered information before proceeding.

You will get a submission confirmation with additional information that can be printed for your records. You can also save a copy of your request as a PDF.

After you submit your request, you will be notified via email of computing time awarded and provided with informationon how to request accounts for your project team members.
