Logging into NAS Systems

Article ID: 60
Last updated: 23 Sep, 2025

Once you successfully enable your RSA SecurID token and log in for the first time, you can continue to log into NAS systems using the two-step connection process—in which you first log into a secure front end (SFE), and then into another NAS system, such as a PFE or LFE—with either your NAS password or your NASA personal identity verification (PIV) badge. This is the easiest way to connect without doing any extra set up.

However, by investing some time to set up public key authentication and SSH passthrough, you can make your future logins and inbound file transfers easier and faster.
